Within the broader framework of climate change adaptation, this report looks at past drought impacts, local perceptions of droughts, anticipated climate change and its related impacts, and viable adaptation options for drought-prone areas of Bangladesh. This includes assessment of current vulnerability, coping strategies and future climate-related risks and adaptation strategies. This report is based on detailed interaction with all project partners and stakeholders at all levels and an extensive literature review. It is meant to serve as a basis for understanding drought impacts and to demonstrate viable adaptation options in the drought-prone areas of
Northwest Bangladesh.
