This 2010 report highlights some of the convenient convergences and multiple-win projects implemented by IRRI, including projects that focused on (1) developing varieties that can cope better under heat stress, (2) exploring technologies that will potentially cut down on the greenhouse gas emissions from rice production, and (3) re-engineering photosynthesis to enable crops to produce 50% more grains while using less nitrogen and water at the same time.
