Despite advances in the use of remote sensing technology in the field of agriculture, data analysis & developing applications for agricultural risk management have proved to be more complex and expensive than anticipated. In recent decades, crop insurance systems have been designed and implemented in several countries. The most promising and sustainable approach is that of insurance systems within the framework of a public-private partnership between the state, the agricultural sector, and the (re) insurance industry (depicted as green and blue). It can be assumed that crop insurance systems will be developed and implemented as public-private partnerships more and more in developing economies. Advances in remote
sensing technology will certainly fuel this trend.
