This presentation was made on 21 February 2012 at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The topic of the event was “Price and Supply Risks in Agricultural Markets” and was hosted by the Kellogg School of Management, Zell Center for Risk Research.
This presentation focuses on how higher and more volitlie agricultural commodity and energy costs, in addition to the rising world population, will affect the Land O’Lakes company into the future. The increased need for better production yields on the limited agricultural land available and for better water management, alongside the potential upcoming shifts in land uses and government policies in coming years, requires research, investments and free markets to meet the growing challenges.
