The FAO and the Observatory on Food Insecurity and Poverty of Rome (CURSA) are co-organising the event on “The Right to Food in Rome”.

This dialogue will convene FAO, IFAD, and WFP staff, national and local authorities, civil society, academia, and city representatives to discuss key aspects of urban and peri-urban food governance through the lens of the right to food.

These discussions will cover legal frameworks, policy formulation and implementation, mandates, budget allocation, participatory mechanisms, and Farmers’ rights. The dialogue aims to identify and address specific challenges, fostering practical solutions and innovations to strengthen the integration of the right to food and human rights principles. It will also facilitate cooperation and knowledge exchange between towns and cities, particularly within the same region.

This dialogue is part of the FAO Right to Food Team’s series on the right to food in urban and peri-urban food systems.
