This two-session webinar on progress and next steps of the COP30 in Belem will help translate globally agreed outcomes, particularly on gender and just transition, into practical guidance for countries, FAO offices, and development partners.
By bringing together negotiators, practitioners, researchers, and civil society, this two-part event aims to elevate the critical role of gender equality, social justice, and rural livelihoods in shaping effective climate policies and to strengthen capacities for designing and implementing equitable, resilient, and transformative climate actions across agrifood systems.
Session 2 – Just Transition: Advancing Social Justice in Climate Action for Agrifood Systems Session 2 will examine the central role of agrifood systems in rural livelihoods and emissions, and how Just Transition is increasingly recognized as essential to rural transformation and sustainable development. The session will explore how countries, negotiators, civil society, and technical partners can shape the Just Transition mechanism’s development and support effective implementation of just transitions in agrifood systems across developing countries, SIDS, and low- and middle-income economies.
