In line with its commitment to private sector engagement to benefit smallholders and rural agri-businesses, IFAD is collaborating with BNP Paribas and the Grameen Crédit Agricole on a regional project under the Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) Challenge Programme for Adaptation Innovation in Benin, Colombia, Morocco, Senegal, and Zambia. These grants will accelerate the integration of digital, inclusive climate adaptation finance for smallholder farmers, farmer organizations, and value chain SMEs. This will be achieved through innovative blended finance instruments and verification/certification tools for assessing climate impact. This collaboration highlights the critical role of private sector involvement in IFAD-led projects and its effectiveness in fostering inclusive finance for vulnerable and marginalized communities.

Co-organized by the Inclusive Rural Finance (IRF) Network , and FARM-D (hosted by PARM), the webinar featured experts from IFAD, JuST Institute and Grameen Crédit Agricole to discuss key aspects of the initiative to better understand the private sector role in engaging with IFAD and international organisations to promote better opportunities for rural smallholders through enhanced outreach and access to finance.
