This seminar by CGIAR and the UAE government will explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing policy analysis and policy making within low and middle-income countries. The event will showcase two AI pilot tools developed by the CGIAR Policy Innovations Program in collaboration with the Digital Accelerator that are designed to support the transformation of food systems in a climate crisis: RIAPA-AI, a tool that provides comprehensive, data-driven analysis of policy impacts on food systems, poverty, and jobs; and IDMF-AI an innovative Irrigation Demand Management and Forecasting tool for optimizing water productivity in Agriculture.

The seminar aims to demonstrate and discuss how these AI-driven prototypes can help governments navigate complex socio-economic challenges, optimize (water) resource allocation, and formulate more effective, evidence-based policies to foster sustainable development. It will also provide a platform for CGIAR partners and to provide feedback on these tools and discuss possible pathways for the scaling up and out of these tools with a focus on Africa.
