The high-level 2025 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be co-hosted by France and Costa Rica and held in Nice, France, from 9 – 13 June 2025.
As ocean ecosystems face mounting pressures from climate change, pollution, and overexploitation, Public Development Banks (PDBs) are emerging as key actors in advancing innovative and scalable solutions. Finance in Common (FiCS) is organising a side event on Monday, 9 June 2025, from 17:15 to 18:15 CEST in Nice, France. The event, titled “Leading with Purpose: How Public Development Banks are Shaping Ocean Action”, will bring together leading institutions to showcase how PDBs are shaping a transformative agenda for sustainable ocean finance, enhancing coordination, and unlocking capital for ocean-positive investment.
