The agricultural sector is a key-driver of economic growth in low-income countries, with small-scale farmers playing an essential role in its development. Establishing a supportive financial framework for farmers and stakeholders is crucial for fostering growth and ensuring long-term success of their activities. Programmes, such as PARM’s risk transfer facility INSURED (hosted by IFAD), offer agricultural risk management tools and solutions that contribute to mitigating the risks and vulnerabilities faced by key actors in the sector, especially the most vulnerable.

Co-organized by the Inclusive Rural Finance (IRF) Network , PARM and FARM-D, the webinar will feature leading experts from PARM, WFP and SIDA who will share key lessons learned from their activities investing in programmes that support agricultural economic resilience, and delivering effective technical support to actors at different levels of the agricultural sector (small-scale producers and financial services) and in different contexts (conflict, natural disasters…). The discussion will highlight the critical need for establishing a supportive financial framework for farmers and stakeholders for fostering growth and ensuring long-term success of activities.
