AGRA partnered with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in 2017 to implement the “Improving Delivery of Seed and Soil Fertility Technologies” (IDSST) project. IDSST aimed to support IFAD’s programs in three East and Southern African countries: Ethiopia, Malawi, and Mozambique. The IDSST project worked in tandem with the Sustainable Agriculture Production Program (SAPP) in Malawi, the Participatory Small-scale Irrigation Development Program II (PASIDP II) in Ethiopia, and The Pro-Poor Value Chain Development Project in the Maputo and Limpopo Corridors (PROSUL) in Mozambique, to enhance access to improved seed and soil fertility technologies for smallholder farmers.
The collaboration focused on promoting and disseminating improved seed and soil fertility technologies and generating, documenting, and sharing knowledge.
As part of the project outcomes, the IDSST team documented the experiences and lessons from the project in a book. In addition, and to support knowledge dissemination activities, AGRA, in collaboration with IFAD and Government stakeholders, is organizing a webinar to discuss the critical themes around disseminating improved inputs and technologies to smallholder farmers to strengthen the food systems and launch the book.
The webinar will then serve as an opportunity:
• To share results, impact stories, and lessons learned from implementing the project.
• To strengthen the partnership with IFAD and other stakeholders in the food systems in countries where AGRA is investing.
• To launch the IDSST book and deploy various dissemination channels for the knowledge product.
