IFAD ECG’s Biodiversity Team is organizing the first event in the Learning Event series, “Biodiversity in Practice”, which aims to bring new perspectives and innovations from internal and external speakers on strengthening the integration of biodiversity in IFAD’s operations. The learning series will kick off with a mini-series on “Promoting Biodiversity through Value Chains and Innovative Finance”, focussing on the challenges and opportunities for integrating biodiversity into IFAD’s value chains activities and the potential to unlock new financial resources for biodiversity through innovative solutions such as biodiversity credits. The first session in the series that we invite you to is on the theme of Promoting a Landscape Approach in Rural Value Chains. Featuring case study presentations from IUCN and WWF’s Global Palm Oil Team, as well as IFAD’s own work, the session will focus on ways value chains can support the conservation and restoration of landscapes, with a practical view of exploring how IFAD can promote some of the proposed value chain approaches in its own funded projects.
