[AUDA-NEPAD] From November 17 to 18, 2025, experts from Senegal’s universities, the Senegalese Institute for Agricultural Research (ISRA), and the National Biosafety Agency (ANB), with support from partners including AUDA-NEPAD, the University of California, Davis, IITA, and the USDA, met to discuss the potential of genome editing technology in Senegal’s agricultural sector. All unanimously recognized the immense opportunities offered by this technology and the urgent need for Senegal to lay the necessary groundwork for its use in the country.
