ShujaazFM Youth Communications Initiative

Abstract

ShujaazFM is a multimedia youth communication initiative which combines monthly comic books, daily radio programmes, and social media to look at a range of agricultural issues effecting young people across Kenya. The project combines three powerful and accessible youth-focused media:

  • nationally distributed free monthly comic books
  • daily syndicated FM radio and (planned) television programmes
  • interactive SMS (for audience feedback).

Listen to the DFID podcast (March 2012). DJ Boyie – one of the comic’s heroes – talk about the Emmy-nominated project and get a surprise call from DFID Minister Alan Duncan MP
