Release and Popularisation of Cultivars in Madhya Pradesh

Abstract

This chapter begins with a description of the environmental and agricultural conditions in Madhya Pradesh. The varietal identification and release system is then discussed, followed by four sections which consider crop improvement, research stations and trials for four crops, namely rice, wheat, chickpeas and maize. The final sections review popularization with farmers and seed production.
