Outcomes and Actions for Global Food Security: High Level Task Force on the Global Food Security Crisis

Abstract

The High-Level Task Force (HLTF) on the Global Food Security Crisis was formed in 2008 to create a plan of action to address the current crisis and coordinate its implementation. The Comprehensive Framework for Action (CFA) responds to this request by providing governments, international and regional agencies and organizations, and civil society groups a range of outcomes and actions which could form the basis of responses to the crisis. This document overviews the basic outcomes and a list of immediate actions to be taken for each of those outcomes. Specific outcomes have been identified to improve access to food and nutrition, and support and increase food availability, as well as forbuilding longer-term resilience and contributing to global food and nutrition security, and for supporting information systems.
