India’s Food Challenge

Abstract

This presentation was made at the Symposium on “Growing food: New places, new technologies? hosted by Johns Hopkins University in April 2012. The author mainly focuses on the key question of India’s size and resource security, citing the large and growing population, the fast growing economy, and the relatively fractional size of agricultural land and fresh water to sustain the growth in economuy and population.
