This editorial describes this issue of the journal. It contains papers which are each a synthesis of 2 or more papers presented at the 3rd International Workshop on Dacryodes edulis and other non-conventional oil producing species, held in Cameroon, 3-5 October, 2000. The workshop was based on data emerging from projects R7190 and R7187.
