Agrifood Systems Technologies and Innovations Outlook (ATIO)

Abstract

The ATIO Knowledge Base (KB) was co-designed through a participatory consultation process to ensure it meets the diverse needs of its users. The use cases identified span a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, farmers, NGOs, youth, investors, and private sector actors, each with distinct information needs and search behaviors. Key use cases include identifying context-specific innovations, assessing adoption potential, accessing implementation guidance, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The consultations emphasized the importance of inclusive design, multilingual access, and the integration of grassroots innovations. These insights directly informed the KB’s content structure, taxonomy, and interface design, ensuring it serves as a practical, equitable, and user-centered tool for agrifood system transformation.
