Acknowledging Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as an Agricultural Risk

Abstract

The Platform for Agricultural Risk Management is dedicated to fostering the resilience of rural people and communities through a holistic approach to risk management (including a climate-risk insurance program) that fosters smallholder farmers’ resilience, through a gender-responsive and inclusive lens. In this paper, published on the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women and Girls, which run every year from 25 November to 10 December, PARM Gender Expert, Johana Simao reflects on the subject and shares the way forward to addressing gender-based violence in agricultural risk management.
