The African Union’s post-Malabo agenda marks a pivotal moment for Africa’s agrifood systems. As the Malabo Declaration nears its end in 2025, a new phase, CAADP3, will build on past successes to tackle emerging challenges like climate change, financing gaps and smallholder farmer inclusion.
The upcoming Kampala Declaration, expected to be endorsed in January 2025, will align Africa’s agricultural future with global goals on food security, sustainability and nutrition.
The Road to Kampala: a new webinar series
Convened by the Zero Hunger Coalition, the ‘Road to Kampala‘ webi-series brings together experts and stakeholders through a series of four subject-specific webinars, each tackling issues aligned with the priorities of the new African agricultural framework. It serves as an opportunity to engage with the agriculture, climate and nutrition sectors across Africa and beyond to shape discussions around the CAADP framework and create a forward-looking for Africa’s agrifood systems transformation.
This first webinar focused on the intersection of agriculture and nutrition, emphasising the need to strengthen food systems to deliver healthy diets and ensure better nutrition outcomes across the continent, with cross-cutting themes of gender and financing.
The partners supporting the organisation of this webinar are the SUN Movement, GAIN, SDG2 Advocacy Hub and the Shamba Centre for Food & Climate.
