Lastly, while monitoring and evaluating the achievements of cooperatives in Burundi, I was moved by an elderly woman, the treasurer of an agricultural cooperative, who can neither read nor write. According to the testimonies of her cooperative members, who chose her to ensure the proper management of their cooperative, they say they are very satisfied with the woman’s behavior despite her advanced age and her lack of reading and writing skills: She is attentive, honest, rigorous, and attracts the rest of her community with her positive, aspiring qualities. For me, I understood that entrepreneurship has no age limit, just like good deeds.
