I am delighted to have the privilege of participating in the training of trainers on agricultural risk management, cohort 1, in Burundi, organized by PARM from July 7 to 10, 2025. It was a session rich in experiences from the speakers, particularly from Professors Ndimira Pascal Firmin and Nicodème Nimenya. It should be noted that Burundi is preparing for the Program-Budget approach, which must take into account aspects of agricultural risk management in the context of sustainable development. During the session, we learned a lot about the various agricultural risks, their impact, and management tools, which led to proposals to prioritize agricultural risk mechanisms, innovation and the strengthening of Burundi’s new administrative structures, and the professionalization of producers. We have also a good moment to talk about FARM-D Community in order to invite the new member. Many thanks to PARM and especially to Ms. Francesca Nugnes, who facilitated all the activities.
