Crop residues (CRs), defined as the plant parts left in the field after harvesting the economic part of the agricultural crops, burnt on the field, harm human health and soil quality. In India, FAO supports farmers and enterprises to CRs for the production of alternative fuels such as compressed biogas (CBG) and biomass pellets. This helped them to diversify their incomes and to reduce emissions and wastes. Is CRs burning part of your practice? Have you considered or do you know of other options as the one above mentioned?
